finishing a new graphic novel...INVASI..( dapatkan novel Invasi karya Raja Faisal terbitan BukuFIXI sekarang! )
so my status.."Please Do Not Disturb"..

wish can have a day straight 6 hours uninterpretable time for me...to draw and ink my comic..
berusahalah... aghhh deadline,, mengejar kejar,,

belasah je...hmmm buat online komik best gak...ntah bila nak buat..busy banget..

Sketch Julai

sambil buat kerja yang behind schedule ( uishh bila nak semua on time up front nih!!)
sambil conteng- conteng maka terjadi satu watak adiwira baru,,

agak menarik.. satu hero malaysia..

belasah je...

on traditional inking..

yup digital inking is catching up fast..more fastest easy way..and cheap tool for inking..

but i still love the lush..the feel..the stroke of the brush..it has your personal touch add value..

yes i do most storyboard..concept..or commercial/animation stuff digitally..

but on comic art.. i still prefer pencil..paper..brush pen...brush and botlle of ink..
its very satisfying..pleasure craft of an art inking..

With digital "inking" becoming more and more popular, there is a lot of discussion going on about traditional inking and it' s future place in comics. 

Let me first get this out of the way...
I have nothing against digital inking. What ever you choose to use to create comics, just make it look good. It really doesn't make a difference what tools are used, if the end product is an enjoyable read. That said, i choose the brush and nib as my weapons of choice. They work for me, and i have a deep appreciation for original art.  has written extensively about original art. He has covered all the bases in a  much deeper manner which insightful than anything i could write.

So, with so many artists using digital media to create comics, what is the future of traditional inking? I'm an optimist,  i see a bright future. Inking used to be the default means of creating line art. It wasn't a choice someone made. With digital media coming into play, there is now a choice. So, i see digital media weeding out the casual inkers, the default inkers. Traditional inking well be left to the artisans, the craftsmen, those with a vision who are passionate about the medium.  I see a the mid and low level inkers disappearing. What will be left is a class of high level ink artists. Cartoonists who CHOOSE to ink, specifically and with passion and intent. They will shape and mold the medium, breathing new life into it. If someone chooses to take the long road (traditional inking) versus the quicker route (digital media) then they must have a purpose in doing so. With that purpose will come some amazing work. 

The new HD iPad will allow the reader to see traditional inks better than print medium ever could. So, i don't see the death of print as a threat to traditional inking.

What inspired this lil rant was this years inkwell award nominees.

Once again i feel that  the ballot seems to truly ignore the trailblazers of our industry. We are in a time where some of the greatest inkers of the medium are emerging while a group of masters continue to develop the craft. So, i have decided to start promoting the art of inking, and those who are defining the future of it while bringing awareness to the past. I do not feel like the Inwell Awards are a solid voice for our future. I am certainly no master of the craft of inking, but i am passionate as hell about it, and will do my best to celebrate this craft and raise awareness of the past and future of inking.

I run the SEQA dept. at SCAD Atlanta, where is teach as well. My students know my passion for inking. A passion which i share and teach on a daily basis. Every fall i teach a an advanced level inking class where i am lucky to help develop the next generation of inkers while celebrating those who came before them

Also, I will soon release a tumblr blog with interviews and art. Look out for...

The Amazing Spider-man new movie is coming out,,,for July sketch blog update...and for my draw Comics session at Comic Shop Earth 638, Kelana Mall, Kelana Jaya...tutorial notes..

so..some gesture of our friendly neighborhood spider-man..
yup one of my favourite comic book character..my first introduction to spiderman..and unconsciously influence me..when  i was a kid doodling Spider-man...is the series that has John Romita run,, cant remember which issue...is the run that has Spidey vs Kingpin and Rhino..

entahh tak da mood nak buat keje malam ni..yup kekadang tugasan subjek matter kerja..tak lah memberangsangkan..tapi sebagai kerja..kena buatlah..

..malam ni feel lak nak lukis Robocop..layan sampai ink dan kaler..walaupun rasa terbuang ..masa..dekat sejam lebih layan... pikir nak sambung keje...tgk jam..Euro nak start..Poland vs Greece...
maka lagi target kerja nak siap tergendala...

Robocop best giler..tak sabar nak tgk reboot filem ni 2013..harap tak mengecewakan..

Invasi Prebiu

Last post pada May 13...dan saya kembali post pada May 31..hmmm its there something lurking behind numbers?....

memandangkan saya telah pun prebiu Komik aka Novel Grafik INVASI karya Raja Faisal, Adaptasi dari Novel Invasi ( dapatkan di pasaran atau MPH berdekatan anda!) di MGCC 19hb tempoh hari... dan pihak bukufixi dan penulisnya sendiri pun kata buleh prebiu di blog saya..

maka inilah beberapa rekaan sketches adaptasi Novel Invasi...dan versi komik ini agak lain sikit persembahannya dari komik...

maka inilah prebiunya....lebih pada character design sketch...

dan cabarannya sekrang nak menyiapkan komik ini..100 pages to go..
Alhamdullilah..sebelum ini buzy dgn Anugerah Pekomik dan MGCC2012...yg telah di jalankan dengan jayanya..
kini tinggal event Festival Filem Pelajar...
harap buleh fokus byk masa nak buat komik pula...

Back Drawing comic..

A year prepare my next comic..liga pendekar 2..
prepare synopsis plot up to volume 6...
volume 2.. thumbnail ..layout sketch dan 1st draft loose skrip dah siap..
tapi kena KIV..on hold..
the editors and sales/marketing kata kena hold..takut tak sesuai untuk target market kanak-kanak..

takpa.. KIV KIV laaah..fokus komik sesuai untuk kehendak penerbit dan pembaca..
idea dah ada..dah sketch,,, tinggal nak menaip je..

dekat setahun geram nak lukis komik...

akhirnya berjaya ..back in drawing comic..

hanya satu proposal...
pening dan mencabar..kena lukis bandar...erkkk

cuba main stroke baru... propposal gak,,kena reject lagi..

just finished a class that its not my usuall field..but its a good learning process..
perghh... give a talk/class at 124 students..
soo manyy..sooo hot..aircond not working..
ok la..

got other things need to be done..so..
again another Hellboy sketch..then back doing script for my comic..

.. patutnya ada sketch pertama 2012..adalah finish ink n sketch untuk watak2 liga pendekar..
untuk resubmit proposal komik Liga Pendekar 2...sebab kena submit balik..coz awal sinopsis Lp#2 submit december last 2011..tapi lepas 6 bulan...tak sesiap maka..kena resubmit balik...

takpa kali nie resubmit sebab dah siap full thumbnail n rough skrip idea untuk LP#2..kini nak siapkan skrip penuh..manuskrip penuh...untuk di submit..then terus buat pencilling dan inking...harap resubmit proposal LP#2 tak di reject atau di tukar konsep...

ini teaser mini Liga Pendekar #2..ke viral kempen..hmmmmm

lagi special teaser..tunjuk skit laa..mana buleh semua..harap konsep ini di terima oleh pihak sales marketing PTS...nak konsep comel bebudak all ages...kemudian la....

ini pula ketika buat promo kat satu sekolah di Bandar Tasek Putri, Rawang kut..tak ingat..

banyak nak citer sepanjang 2011..hidup freelance dan involvemnt dengan 3 projek filem..dan realiti show Digista teens 2011..yang hujung december shooting di Bangkok..
